THANKSGIVING DAY

- Tatting Group,10-11:59am. Tatting is a technique for handcrafting a particularly durable lace constructed by a series of knots and loops. Tatting can be used to make lace edging as well as doilies, collars, necklaces, bracelets, and other decorative pieces. The lace is formed by a pattern of rings and chains formed from a series of cow-hitch, or half-hitch knots, called double stitches, over a core thread. Gaps can be left between the stitches to form picots, which are used for practical construction as well as decorative effect. Tatting dates to the early 19th century. Loveland Public Library, 300 N. - Under a Blood Red Sky: A Tribute to U2, 8-10pm. Covering all of U2’s best music since the 1983 War tour, UABRS shows amaze fans with their U2-esque reenactments including replica wardrobe, stage props, video/audio choreography, instruments, and equipment from many famous U2 concerts around the world. This project is about the spectacle of what seeing/experiencing U2’s music live has grown to be known for and not just simply covering the music. Loveland Letters was established in hopes people from around the world will send anonymous postcards to our designated PO box to be collected, posted online and then displayed in an upcoming public art installation. Our Facebook, Instagram and Twitter accounts will feature the postcards as they are received. Loveland Letters wants postcards filled with loving, positive, inspiring or memorial tribute messages. We encourage handwritten messages, doodles, artwork, photos or whatever creative inspiration you see fit to spread your message. Loveland is known for being a city with heart and art. Between our art community and our loving namesake, Loveland encourages and celebrates spreading love and good cheer. This interactive art project just seems to be the perfect way to celebrate Loveland and our positive messages as a way to inspire others.
